Based on the novel by Thea von Harbou.

Restored under the supervision of the Murnau Foundation and with the original 1927 orchestral score by Gottfried Huppertz.

Includes: a 43 min. documentary, The Metropolis case, on the making of the film by Enno Patalas; optional audio commentary; photo. galleries of production stills, missing scenes, architectural sketches, and poster artwork; a short segment about the digital restoration.
