Summary: French painter Georges Braque (1882-1963) was one of the great artistic pioneers of the 20th century. Together with fellow artist and intimate friend Pablo Picasso, Braque is considered a founding father of Cubism, a term first used to describe the fragmented, "cubelike" forms found in many of his most innovative works.
