Summary: This is a fascinating historical overview of textiles in Pakistan from the earliest evidence (at Mehrgarh in Baluchistan, c. 5000 B.C.), through the Indus Valley period (c. 2000 B.C.), to sculptural and textual evidence from the early centuries A.D. Influences reflect early invasions from Central Asia and the Islamic world and, in the 16th century, the foundation of the Mughal Empire.
