Portrait photography.

In a series of sumptuous portraits, leading New York photographer David Seidner pays homage to early nineteenth-century portraitists such as Ingres, Boldini and John Singer Sargent. Modern-day actors, actresses and aristocrats take on the costumes and attitudes of their earlier counterparts in a blurring of period and technique and a fusion of the photographer's honesty with the painter's sensitivity which results in images of compelling beauty.
